How do we confirm our wedding at Syrencot?

How much deposit is required to book the date?
10% of the venue hire for weddings taking place over 12 months away.
30% of the venue hire for weddings taking place 12 months or less.
Who books the ceremony?
You book your ceremony via Wiltshire registry office.
Their contact number is 0300 003 4570 www.wiltshire.gov.uk/registrations-ceremonies. If you would prefer a church wedding, you can still make use of The Billiard Room before your ceremony. Alternatively, you may choose to arrive at Syrencot after your wedding ceremony. There are seven churches within the Avon River Ministry (our local parish).

Can we get married outside at Syrencot?
Yes, Syrencot is licensed for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Outdoor ceremonies are weather dependent.
How many can Syrencot accommodate for a ceremony?
We can host up to 150 guests for a ceremony in The Glasshouse, we can also accommodate 150 guests for an outdoor ceremony.
How many can Syrencot seat for the wedding breakfast?
We can seat up to 150 guests for your wedding breakfast.
What time are we able to access the venue from?
The Billiard Room will be available for you to access from 9 am. Please speak to the Events Team about times to access other areas of the venue.
What time can suppliers access the venue?
Suppliers have access from 9 am.
What time do suppliers need to remove items after the wedding?
Suppliers need to collect all installations and decorations no later than 9 am the following morning. The Events Team are unable to help with the removal of decorations.
Is linen provided for the cake and gift table?
Yes, Syrencot provide linen for your gift table, cake table and table napkins. Any other linen can be sourced at an additional cost. Please ask the events team for information on pricing.
What time does the venue close?
Last orders will be called at 11:15 pm when the music will also start to wind down. We ask that guests who aren’t staying overnight have prebooked taxis to collect them by 12 midnight. Overnight guests are asked to retire to Syrencot House by 12 midnight.
Can we have music playing outside?
Yes, only unamplified background music can be played outside until 7pm.
We regret that some instruments including brass and woodwind are not able to be played outside, please speak to our Events Team for further details.
Can we have candles at our wedding?
Candles are permitted at Syrencot however, they must be placed in suitable candle holders which are taller than the flame once lit. Battery operated candles are also a great alternative. Please speak to your event manager for further information.
Can we have confetti at the wedding?
Yes, but we only permit real petal confetti and for it to be thrown outside. Please note that confetti cannons are not permitted.
Does the venue have heating and or air conditioning facilities?
Yes, we have heating for the colder months and air conditioning for the warmer months. In winter months, we can light the central wood fire in The Farmshed.
Can we have sky lanterns?
Unfortunately, lanterns are not permitted at Syrencot due to nearby livestock.
Can we have fireworks at our wedding?
We cannot allow fireworks at Syrencot for the same reason, again due to the surrounding livestock.
Can we have sparklers?
Sparklers are permitted at Syrencot up until 7pm.
Can we have smoke bombs?
There are certain areas in the grounds that these are allowed. Please note that these are not in The Walled Garden or near Syrencot House. Written permission to set off smoke bombs is required from The Events Team in advance of the wedding.
Can we use drones?
Drones are permitted, however permission must be sought from the Ministry of Defence as their land surrounds the venue. This must be obtained at the latest a month before the wedding and additionally a couple of days before. Written evidence of the MOD permission and the relevant insurances for the operator must be emailed to the Events Team.
Do you allow dogs?
Yes! We love (well behaved) dogs. We allow up to 2 dogs per event at Syrencot. If you wish to bring your dogs please speak to The Events Team for a copy of our dog policy which must be completed and returned in advance of the wedding.
Do we have to use your recommended suppliers?
All of our catering and drinks are provided by our expert on-site catering team. You are welcome to use your own suppliers for anything else. We have a list of recommended suppliers on our website.
Do we need to take out wedding insurance?
We strongly recommend that you take out wedding insurance. Weddings are a big investment and fingers crossed you’ll never need to call on your insurance, but having it in place will cover you for a range of eventualities.
