Your wedding day timeline
This page serves as a guide for the timing of your wedding day. Each wedding is completely unique, so the timeline will not be the same for all couples. Please speak to the Events Team for a more definitive guide to your day, taking into consideration your ceremony time, the package you choose and your guest numbers.
7am – YOUR BIG DAY IS HERE
You have waited many months for today and now it is finally here. It is time to spend your incredible wedding day at this magical hideaway in the Wiltshire countryside. All of your planning is a distant memory and we are hard at work creating your perfect day and menu. It’s almost time to travel to Syrencot and arrive down the long driveway surrounded by woodland which opens out to reveal your wedding venue.
9am – YOUR DRESSING ROOM AWAITS
From 9 am you can access The Billiard Room, your light and stylish dressing room. Located on the ground floor of Syrencot House with its own entrance, this luxurious space is designed for that all-important pampering and is furnished with everything you could need for putting the finishing touches to your look. Those precious hours before the ceremony will be spent with your nearest and dearest as you look out over the surrounding countryside. Feeling peckish? We have a selection of grazing boards and drinks you can order to keep your energy levels up as you get ready
12 noon – YOUR EXCLUSIVE HIRE BEGINS
Syrencot is yours for the day, and while you are pampering and preening, we will be making sure that The Glasshouse is picture perfect and working closely with your chosen suppliers to transform The Farmshed, bringing your wedding vision to life. If you have chosen a church wedding, the venue is still yours to use as you please. We will amend the running of the day to accommodate these arrangements. You can find six beautiful churches within three miles of Syrencot.
12:15 – MEET WITH THE REGISTRAR
Just before the ceremony, you will both (separately) answer a few questions with the registrar. This is an informal chat so you are both prepared for the next steps.
12:30pm – Day guests begin to arrive
As you are putting together the final touches in The Billiard Room, our events team will greet your guests and direct them to the beautiful Glasshouse. Our licensed bar will be open for guests to purchase refreshments before the ceremony. The bar will close 30 minutes before the start time to give guests time to finish their drinks and take their seats.
1pm – Say ‘I Do’
Your guests will be seated and awaiting your imminent arrival. Make the walk along the secluded path and take a moment to gather your thoughts with your wedding party before entering the Walled Garden and walking down the garden aisle to the romantic Glasshouse. Get ready for some of the most important words you will ever say.
1:30pm – Welcome drinks
After your ceremony, mingle with your guests in the gardens, Glasshouse and Farmshed and treat them to a memorable drinks reception. A Champagne bar or cocktail station coupled with mouth-watering canapés will certainly go down a treat.
2pm – Camera Ready
Your photographer will whisk you away to some of the most romantic spots in Syrencot (and there are a few!), favourites being the crinkle-crankle walls of The Walled Garden, the entrance to Syrencot House and the secluded picturesque grounds.
3pm – Your wedding breakfast
Wander along the paths of the Walled Garden to The Farmshed where your meticulously planned and prepared wedding breakfast awaits. The barn combines a breathtaking contemporary style with a country feel that connects it to its agricultural surroundings, and is like nowhere else you have seen before. Make your first entrance as a married couple past the feature fireplace and into your wedding reception.
5:30pm – Say a few words
Syrencot is yours to enjoy as you wish, so it is up to you whether you hold your speeches before or after the wedding breakfast. Once you have finished your first meal as a married couple, spend your time out on the terrace of The Farmshed or in the contemporary bar area with your guests in a relaxed and stylish setting. Your evening entertainment can take this opportunity to discreetly set up and get everything ready for the perfect party.
6:30pm – Evening guests begin to arrive
Any evening guests will arrive and start to join the party at this time. We will adjust the layout of The Farmshed to accommodate a larger party, and make room for the dance floor, of course.
7:30pm – First dance and cake cutting
Now all your friends and family have gathered and are ready to witness you cut the cake and come together for your first dance as a married couple. Traditionally, you would cut the cake and then take to the floor, but you can choose to do things however you like when you celebrate here.
8pm – Get the party started
It is time to turn the music up and dance the night away with the ones you love. Any additional entertainment that you may want to offer, such as a photo booth, can easily be accommodated.
8:30pm – Exciting evening food
As evening falls, you can treat your guests to an array of stunning food options served in the corner of the Walled Garden next to The Pump House. Our chefs will cook anything from wood-fired pizzas to a barbecue feast and fragrant wok food, which can either be served to your guests outside as the sun sets or indoor should the weather take a turn for the worse.
11:15pm – Last orders
Your bar manager will call last orders and start to draw the night to a close. It is time for one last drink and a final dance with your friends and family.
11:15pm – The wind down
Your DJ or band will turn down the tempo and change the evening music to a calmer level, making it the perfect time for you to say thank you and goodnight. With 13 luxurious bedrooms in Syrencot House your guests will only have a short walk from The Farmshed to their home for the night. Retire to the luxurious Master Suite, with its private lounge, modern bathroom and exquisite style, and unwind in the peace and privacy of Syrencot.
Midnight – The journey home
We ask that all guests who are not residing at Syrencot for the night vacate the venue by midnight. We recommend local taxis are booked in advance to avoid disappointment and due to the rural location of the venue.
The following morning
8am – Breakfast in style
Gather together once again in The Mess in Syrencot House and enjoy a delicious breakfast from 8 am onwards. This is a wonderful way to end your time at Syrencot as you can eat, drink and reminisce about your big day with your closest friends and family.
10am – Check out time
Your items from the day before will be collected together and ready for you to collect from The Farmshed when you leave, so it is time to say your final goodbyes to your guests, our team and to Syrencot. We wish you lots of joy in your married lives together!
